I am so excited to share some of my favorite FASTer Way to Fat Loss® approved dessert recipes with you all.

I don’t know about you, but I have a GIANT sweet tooth. I am sure that part of the reason is because I am insulin resistant and have polycystic ovarian syndrome, known as PCOS. One of the big reasons why I love the FASTer Way is because it’s taught me how to incorporate sweets into my nutrition plan without going overboard.

When choosing a dessert, I look for ingredients with a low glycemic index. What I mean is that I am choosing foods based on how slowly or quickly they cause an increase in my blood glucose levels. My goal is to keep my blood sugar fairly steady and avoid any large increases in my glucose.

While I don’t regularly check my blood sugar, I do know which foods will affect me based on past experience. Just by glancing at the sugar content of a packaged treat, I can tell whether or not it’s going to make my blood sugar spike and crash, ultimately leaving me feeling like garbage.

To go along with the FASTer Way to Fat Loss guidelines, I try and choose recipes that use ingredients that come from the ground or have a mother. What does that mean? That I try and avoid any processed foods. And, also to follow the guidelines, I try and avoid dairy as much as possible.

So, now for the good part— the recipes! Both of this week’s recipes come from Laura Lea Balanced.

No Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites

Y’all—these bites are on of my favorites. Seriously. I can make them over and over again and never get sick of them. There’s no brown sugar in this recipe—just medjool dates. I opted for Enjoy Life brand semi-sweet chocolate chips to keep this recipe dairy free. You have to try it and let me know if you’re as obsessed as I am!

Flourless Chocolate Olive Oil Cake

Don’t let the olive oil scare you. This recipe is AMAZING. The cake is just… well, heaven. I made this recipe with monkfruit sweetener which was a first for me. Monkfruit sugar is sweet, won’t raise your blood sugar levels, and has very few, if any, calories. It is much more sweet than sugar, so just be aware. A little bit goes a long way.

You absolutely must make this recipe—it is AMAZING. It is a very dense, very rich chocolate cake that is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!
